given a ride on a go-kart and took a liking to it. He started racing and after a year began taking part in competitions. Last year, he finished 20th in the


Super One season, but his life changed when he signed for the Strawberry Racing team this year.

with Jenson's performance this year.He has shown great progress throughout the season and we were immensely proud when he won the British Open plate title. “With only four years’ experience Jenson has come a long way in a short space of time. We are ex- tremely grateful to all the teams who have helped him.”

Fete beats rain to raise £250


THE summer fete at Pilgrims ViewCare Home, Roberts Road, Snod- land had to bemoved indoors because of the bad weather. Claire Saxby said there was a good turnout, thanked volunteers and said the event had raised £256.

A STRAWBERRYTea in the garden of the Freemasons Arms public house, Ham Hill, Snodland, raised £115 for the Breast Cancer Care charity. Natasha Clay, who is pictured serving Eileen and Anita Pentecost, said: "Through rain and wind we kept on going and we raised a whop- ping £115. "Everyone did well


and worked hard with the customers who came through.We had a great rafflewith plenty of prize winners. All the stall holders were local small business owners working hard to build their businesses in the area.”
