Italian wrapper supplier FIS Impianti has taken over the Twister brand from Voith. Managing director Fabio Malnati comments on the acquisition
which enables the wrapping of different-sized paper rolls using just one dispenser, has made it well known all over the world. Twister starts its second life: at the end of 2015 Voith announced that it was the selling of the concepts and the patents of this innovative wrapper to Italian roll handling and wrapping equipment manufacturer FIS Impianti. The two companies have a long- standing tradition of cooperation, particularly in tissue industry, and FIS has been selected among many potential purchasers thanks to its high competence demonstrated over decades of cooperation. investment in wrapping machines, as it has in engineering, manufacturing and installing wrapping machines – its core business since it was founded in 1969. Today it operates from the outskirts of Milan delivering high quality equipment all over the world. The acquisition of Twister’s patents and concept is part of its

The production of Twister will enable FIS Impianti to make a qualitative leap and to be capable of fully meeting every kind of paper producers’ needs, ranging from tissue producers to cardboard. Twister will be updated and modernised but FIS Impianti will not change its concept, which has been demonstrated by its reliability over the years, and will continue enabling paper producers to save space and time according to their needs. Twister can wrap rolls up to 2.5m in diameter and 4.5m in width and weighing up to 10 tons at a speed of up to 120 per hour The feedback from the market is already positive and the FIS
sales force is in contact with many interested paper producers. Despite the crisis in the newsprint paper sector, we are confident that other growing sectors, such as speciality paper, will give positive responses to the launch of this machine.
