- 03rd Dec Punk In Te East Te Lanes
Te Norwich Lanes are set to celebrate the 40th anniversary of punk with an exhibition trail, series of gigs, films and talks in an event aptly named Punk In Te East. Te medieval alleyways, streets and open spaces of the Norwich Lanes were once the stomping ground of the local punks, and Punk In Te East is an unfunded event that’s been put together by the people who were there in a true punk DIY way. It opens 40 years to the day since the release of the first UK punk single New Rose, and closes 40 years to the day that the Sex Pistols were banned from playing at UEA. Check out hundreds of previously unpublished photographs, rare posters, gig tickets and fanzines at the Museum of Norwich in the Bridewell museum and an exhibition trail through Te Lanes. Catch legends like Buzzcocks, Te Subhumans, Te Damned, Don Letts, Te Undertones and Hugh Cornwell playing live too.
