Tis month it’s time to get your lab coat on and get into science in a big way. Enjoy two weeks of fascinating exhibitions, hands-on family activities, inspiring celebrity talks and noisy theatrical shows at the forum, and other venues around the city. Tis is a festival for all age groups and all levels of knowledge and interest, with events ranging from pre-school play sessions to evening lectures. Catch a talk by Professor Robert Winston amongst others, step inside a section of the Large Hadron Collider or the Inflatable Planetarium, and experience live science theatre from Te Experimentrics. Most things are free but some need to be booked in advance. Where’s my Bunsen Burner at yo?

29th October Alan Partridge book signing Jarrolds

Catch Norwich’s own prodigal son Alan Partridge when he returns to the motherland to sign copies of his new autobiography, Nomad, at Jarrolds. Tis deeply personal follow- up to Alan Partridge’s autobiography, I, Partridge, charts the highs, lows and mediums of Alan’s one-man walking tour around (certain parts of) Britain. Alan dons his boots, windcheater and scarf and embarks on an odyssey through a place he once knew – it’s called Britain – intent on completing a journey of immense personal significance. Buy your ticket online in advance - the queue starts at 11 and the signing at 12. Back of the net!

It’s that time of year again, folks, to gather your mates and coin together and head down to Te Halls for the 39th (39th!) Norwich Beer Festival. Try out 200 cask- conditioned real ales from Britain’s independent brewers, draught and bottled beers, and over 40 traditional ciders and perries from East Anglia, the West Country and elsewhere. Be entertained with live music every day of the festival from local jazz, brass, blues, folk and rock acts. It’s a Norwich institution yo!

- 03rd Dec Punk In Te East Te Lanes

Te Norwich Lanes are set to celebrate the 40th anniversary of punk with an exhibition trail, series of gigs, films and talks in an event aptly named Punk In Te East. Te medieval alleyways, streets and open spaces of the Norwich Lanes were once the stomping ground of the local punks, and Punk In Te East is an unfunded event that’s been put together by the people who were there in a true punk DIY way. It opens 40 years to the day since the release of the first UK punk single New Rose, and closes 40 years to the day that the Sex Pistols were banned from playing at UEA. Check out hundreds of previously unpublished photographs, rare posters, gig tickets and fanzines at the Museum of Norwich in the Bridewell museum and an exhibition trail through Te Lanes. Catch legends like Buzzcocks, Te Subhumans, Te Damned, Don Letts, Te Undertones and Hugh Cornwell playing live too. Active Norfolk
