How to recruit a CEO
Recruiting a new chief executive officer is obviously a critical endeavour for any organisation – and one that requires careful planning to ensure the right person is found. Vanessa Moon (pictured) of Moon Consulting, offers her top tips.

t is not often that a business needs to recruit a chief executive officer. However, when the time comes, the organisation needs to have a plan of
action for this most important decision. The challenges are many and the cost of getting it
wrong may be far greater than just reputational loss. Everyone in the business concerned, and its value chain, knows the importance of getting the selection and the on boarding right. While this is also true of roles such as executive
and non-executive board members, the chief executive singularly is responsible for articulating the vision for the business, the implementation of board strategy through the proper use of resources and for setting the tone and embodying the culture of the organisation.
