Saturday, July 9th Shipyard Old Port Half Marathon, 5k and Lobster Bake is Portland’s premier summertime running event that cuts through the heart of the Old Port district and West End neighborhood and fea- tures sweeping views of the Casco Bay its many islands, ferries, sail- boats, lobster boats, tug boats, and paddlers, the Presumpscot River, the City of Portland skyline, and the Back Cove. Te event is hosted from Portland’s Ocean Gateway Termi- nal. Starting at the top of Cutter St. near the Eastern Promenade, this is a fun, fast, beautiful 5k. Sunday, July 24th Open Farm Day – Statewide Open Farm Day is an annual family adventure in which farms through- out the State of Maine open their gates to offer the public an oppor- tunity to learn about the business of agriculture. Many farms will have demonstrations, displays, farm- raised products for sale and animals and crops to experience. Activities may include barn and field tours, milking, hay rides, petting zoos, nature trails, beautiful scenery, samples for tasting and refresh- ments.
