Aylesford’s new vicar starts work inAugust


THE search for a new vicar in Aylesford is now complete with the appointment of the Rev Jonathan Hall. He and his wife Erica have two grown-up sons, Christopher and Richard, and a pet Labrador called Barley. The newswas announced during services at St Peter and St Paul’s Church by the churchwardens Brenda Sladden and Robert Halli- day.


Writing in the parish magazine,


they said: “This is extremely good news with the whole process only taking six months. This could not have been achieved without a lot of hard work and time spent by mem- bers of the parochial church coun- cil.”


Rev Hall was ordained in 1999, having switched to the ministry after working as a personnel officer for Croydon Health Authority and South Somerset District Council. He spent four years as a curate at


Holy Trinity Church, Weymouth, followed by seven years as rector of two parishes on the Isle of Wight, before moving to become senior

Craft and song


AYLESFORD Village Community Centre is holding an indoor market and craft fair on June 26 from 10am to 2pm to raise money to refurbish the kitchen. Singing group Vocademy will be performing at the fair with their principal Dani Baker.
