Pupils mark Queen’s birthday


AFTER learning about the Queen, pupils at the Church of England Primary School, Snodland, dressed in red, white and blue, and planted bulbs around the school to mark her birthday. All the children received a commemorative coin to mark the occa-


sion and head teacher Holley Hunt said: “I'm sure the Queen would have been very impressed with our birthday celebrations for her.”


Work due to start on Co-op


WORK is due to start "very soon" on the conversion of the former Bull public house in Holborough Road, Snodland, which could open by the end of October. The Co-operative Group took out a 20-year lease on the build-


ing in September 2014, and various dates have been given for opening as a Co-op store. The branch at 46-48 High Street, which includes the post office,


will close and the post office will be transferred to the Bull building. The Co-op store at 11 High Street is not affected. A company spokesman said: "I cannot confirm 100%, but it looks


like the dates have been brought forward.We are looking to open at the end of October, so work will start very soon."

at the cafe, who had a wonderful time. Michelle Pearce, of Saltings Road, Snodland, ran the cafe for 14


years and left for family reasons. She said: "I really enjoyed my time there and was sad to leave the friends I made.I wish the new people good luck."
