Audience solves murder mystery


A FULL house supported Lottery for Murder, the third production of Snodland and Valley Community Players (SaVCoPs) in the Devonshire Rooms,Waghorn Road, Snodland. Written and directed by Neil Vinall, the mystery evening started with a


short play about the reading of Great Aunt Vanda's will and there were threats and accusations among the disgruntled recipients of her estate. This was followed by a ploughman's supper and the audience then quizzedmembers of the cast to find out who committed themurder. The group has once again entered the Medway Little Theatre'sDun-

Homes plans


THE company which owns China Chaps, whichmoved from Holbor- ough Road, Snodland to the High Street, has submitted a planning application to Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council. It wants to convert the ground


floor shop sales area of its old shop to three shops and the upper floors to four one-bedroom flats and two bedsits. The company also wants to build a courtyard cottage at 2, Holborough Road.


Speed limit


KENT County Council is imposing double yellow lines and a 20mph speed limit on the Holborough Lakes development in Snodland. The speed limit will apply to Amisse Drive, Ashfield Close, Berry Drive, Hambrook Road, Higham Close, Linnitt Road, PoynderClose, Primrose Close and Wickham Road. Most of Manley Boulevard and Poynder Drive are included. Most of the roads will have dou- ble yellow lines.


AN 11-year-old boy ran more than eight miles from Maidstone to Snodland to raise money for a friend with terminal cancer. Alex Wenham, a pupil at the Church of England PrimarySchool, Snodland, lived in Norman Road, Snodland but has since moved to Calder Road,Maidstone.withmum Ann-Marie Lee and her partner Pete Lee. His run raised money for Becky


Watts, of Abery Drive, Larkfield, who was given a year to live 18 months ago. Since then Becky (42) has been raising money to go on trips to leave happy memories for her children Alfie (12), Mason (three) and her partner Richard Munn. TheyhavebeentoEuroDisney,


Tenerife, Thorpe Park and Winter Wonderland. and themoney raised by Alex will pay for a weekend at Butlins.
