Bernadette Brown and Jean Nicol, Cadham Pharmacy with Joe Mitchell, Managing Director, Juvela
Community Pharmacy Team of the Year
Cadham Pharmacy, Glenrothes M
any community pharmacies aim for the ‘family’ ethos when it comes to their
customer service and care, but few are more deserving of the title more than the winners of this year’s Community Pharmacy Team of the Year, Cadham Pharmacy from Glenrothes, where contractor, Bernadette Brown, has her three daughters working ‘on site’.
In addition to her own family element, Bernadette can also rely on her pharmacy stalwart of 25 years, Jean
28 - SCOTTISH PHARMACIST
Nicol, who is literally a legend in the local area! Now 65 years of age, Jean welcomes every customer with a friendly smile and caring attitude.
‘Jean comes to work with a huge smile,’ says Bernadette, ‘and her enjoyment, enthusiasm, genuine care and desire to help more people are infectious. We recently introduced an EPOS till, which would represent a major change to people of her age, who have worked with Arkwright tills all their life but, as always, Jean
incorporated it as part of normal day- to-day work.’
In addition to the long-serving Jean, Bernadette can also count on Pauline with her 35 years’ experience, Susan (39 years), Karen (25 years) and Cristian (30 years), but she has also introduced ‘new blood’ into the pharmacy in the form of her daughters Kirsty (an undergraduate going into 3rd year pharmacy at RGU) and Laura (who has completed four years in pharmacy and is now
moving on to a psychology degree), in addition to Claire and Ashley.
The expertise at Cadham Pharmacy is unbelievable, with a range of experience from large corporate companies to independent pharmacies. In fact, the walls of the waiting room are now practically sagging under the weight of the certificates on the walls – such is the level of staff achievement!
In addition to the standard, day-to- day services provided by community
