HENLEY FESTIVAL 2016 T
he Festival (Wednesday 6th to Sunday 10th July 2016) is renowned for summer
evenings of eclectic and world class entertainment. Once through the doors, it offers a magical world of art, comedy, theatre, and fine dining, with unexpected surprises at every turn. Some of the greatest musical icons join the FLOATING STAGE for a series of not-to-be-missed performances. One of the most recognisable names in British music, Elton John and his Band opens the Festival on Wednesday 6th July to a sold-out audience whilst Dame Shirley Bassey teams up with vocal group BLAKE on Saturday 9th. Legendary multi-award winning singer-songwriter Elvis Costello & The Imposters will keep the party going on Thursday night and Friday night sees the Festival return to its classic roots with legendary Welsh opera singer Bryn Terfel performing with the Welsh National Opera Orchestra. Finally, everyone’s favourite singer-songwriter Will Young brings Henley Festival to a close on the Sunday night.
Legendary nightclub Heaven bring their sister club Pure to the Festival, kicking off the dancing each night as soon as the headline act finishes on the Floating Stage. Brand new for 2016, legendary jazz club RONNIE SCOTT’S make the Festival their home for the full five days. Seated at cabaret style tables, Festival goers will be treated to the full Ronnie Scott’s experience, watching performances by the stellar Ronnie Scott’s Allstars under the guidance of Jazz maestro James Pearson, while waiters discreetly serve cocktails and show-stopping food.
Also hugely exciting for 2016 is the arrival of the NEW MUSIC STAGE featuring ten of the brightest names in new music. Taking over the newly erected big top, Henley Festival will showcase up and coming talent with a five day programme of unsigned acts, taking place before the Floating Stage performance each evening.
