luxury townhomes began on the east side with room for future expan- sion.
But not all days are filled with sunshine, and on a grey day in 2008, Finz burned to the ground. Fortunately, the fire manifested in the early morn- ing hours and no one was injured. Plans to rebuild Finz were put on hold while the economy recovered, but ideas for a new Finz began to perco- late in the families’ mind.
Which brings us to the recent history of Captain’s Village Marina. Their outstanding commitment to unparalleled customer service was recog- nized by the industry when in 2014, Captain’s Village Marina received the Tigé Boats Canadian Dealer of the Year Award.
Today, Captain’s Village offers new and pre-owned boat sales, service, and a fully stocked parts department. They have on-site detailing, fibre- glass repair and polishing, as well as a full service canvas shop to meet every boating need.
The marina provides seasonal protected moorage for 250 boats and temporary moorage available by the night. There’s even a vacuum sys- tem on the docks, a first for Shuswap Lake. Boaters can pull up to the dock in Scotch Creek, and with a couple of coins vacuum up all the ‘tid- bits’ left over from a fun day on the lake. And when the season comes to a close, there is inside winter storage, and outside dryland storage.
Hundreds of thousands of residents, visitors, and their boats have come to this boaters’ paradise, and Captain’s Village is proud to have provided the highest quality service to their customers for the past 40 years and look forward to another 40 plus more. In the eyes and hearts of Captain’s Village Marina, it is their customers who continue to top the charts.
