Shuswap Lifestyle
The Acton’s chose to live in the Shuswap for some very good reasons, all of which can be distilled down to one word - lifestyle. Living the Shuswap lifestyle is about getting out and recon- necting with the land and people around you. Simply put one foot in front of the other and you are on your way to an adventure like no other.
For those not familiar with the Shuswap, it’s home to roughly 51,000 full-time residents in an area located in the lower portion of British Columbia, about half way between Vancouver, BC and Cal- gary, AB. It is named for the First Nations people, the Secwepemc, also known as Shuswap, who have lived here for over 10,000 years.
FOUR SEASONS OF FUN Summer is the busiest season for outdoor adventure, but there are plenty activities to keep you busy year ‘round. Spend summer days lazing on a houseboat, or go swimming, fishing, water skiing, wake boarding, rafting, or scuba diving. Take a cycle tour, hike, go geocaching, skydiving, horseback riding, paddle boarding, ziplin- ing, or take a Segway tour. Once the snow flies, slip outside and enjoy downhill and x-country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, snow boarding, or a brisk sleigh ride.
