Our Future
Things have changed substantially at Captain’s Village over the years. The Acton family continues to grow and expand the marina in accordance with the vision of its founders by promoting tourism, the lake, and the lifestyle of the Shuswap.
LARGER FACILITIES If you build it, they will come. Or in this case, it was built, and they came and now it’s time to build more! A reno and expansion of an additional 12,000 sq. ft. will be built to accommodate an indoor boat showroom, an updated parts and service department and a com- pletely revamped retail section. The retail section currently carries everything you need for life on the lake, and now it will be properly showcased so you can find what you need, and what you want.
The new indoor boat show room at Captain’s Village will hold up to 16 boats and will accommodate various sizes including large cruis- ers. There are hundreds of lifejackets in assorted styles, manufac- turers and sizes, as well as a full line of the latest in summer fash- ion, swimwear, beach shoes, flip flops etc., that will be showcased for ease of shopping. Then there’s the surf shop with surf boards, paddle boards, wake boards, a wide assortment of water skis and accessories.
NEW RESTAURANT Plans are in place to replace the popular lake access restaurant that burned down in 2008. Before it was destroyed many of the custom- ers and children who frequented Captain’s Village worked there for summer jobs. It was a large contributor to summer employment in this area. Plans are now underway to create a new restaurant with even more employment opportunities and great food for the guests.
