 What is the basis for the positive development of the Oldenburg breed?

 What should dressage horse breeders focus on? Rebecca Gutman, Gestüt Bon homme, of Werder, Germany responds. “Te only goal breed- ers should have for the future is to breed a healthy, correct and rideable horse with good type that is suitable for sport and of the highest quality. Tere will not be any progress otherwise.”

 When you think of the Olden- burg breed, what comes to your mind?


Ireland’s Countess Ulrike Walderdorff of Artramon Farm is fond of Don- nerhall’s influence. “Te Olympic success of Don- nerhall’s offspring made 2012 a very special year,” the countess says. “Te extraordinary achievements of the Donnerhall line delight every horse fan—but at the same time they are also obliga- tions for the future. My father, Otto Schulte-Frohlinde, would have been so proud of this.”


 When you think of the Oldenburg breed, what comes to your mind? Lone Boegh-Hendriksen, a dressage horse fan from Hilleroed, Den- mark, describes finding her own horse. “I purchased my Oldenburg Fürstenball at the Elite Auction in Vechta. I fell in love with him the very first moment I saw him and am still in love with him. I am so proud of this wonderful Oldenburg stallion.” Albert Sprehe, stallion owner and

Donnerhall, influences dressage sport all over the world like no other bloodline,” he says. “Te Olympic Games in London, where the horses on the German team all had the ‘D’ line in their pedigrees, once again made it very clear that the German ‘D’ line cannot be separated from the exclusive ranks of international dressage.”
