far from the case with Shakespeare and his offspring, and with our other stallion Sir James (Sir Donnerhall/Feiner Stern) and his offspring. Shakespeare is just 12 and competed this year at the Inter-
mediare II level ridden by Marcus Orlob, winning all three classes entered so far at Global Dressage in Wellington, Flor- ida, with scores ranging from 74% to 77%. He is schooling all of the Grand Prix movements.
For a breeding stallion,
this is quite a feat—it takes a superior minded individual to accomplish this! In addition, Shakespeare RSF has sired three licensed stallions, 45 premium foals, 15 foals of distinction, and top winners at Hanoverian inspections and breed shows.
SE Farm, Newberg, Oregon
www.sefarm.com The Darco bloodlines have catapulted the SE Farm breeding program to new heights. It began with the offspring from our elite BWP Grand Prix Darco daugh- ter, Mistery, who produced three very talented youngsters: For His Glory SE, a mare by For Pleasure currently campaigned by Taylor Flury; a gelding, For His Pleasure SE (also by For Plea- sure) now making his jumping debut; and Darco’s LegacySE (by Contendor) who has been proving himself a very careful and scopey jumper moving up the levels at Thermal with Jamie Sailor. (He is offered for sale by Mike Edrick Stables.) Then, there are the Darco young-
sters produced for SE Farm by Dr. Beck via the advanced equine reproductive process called ICSI. To date, our Darco frozen semen has produced eight pregnan- cies! SE Farm continues to sell Darco straws to clients who are producing their own youngsters successfully with this semen via the ICSI process. We are excited for the future of these Darco offspring—not just for us, but for others who are also breeding these very highly coveted bloodlines!

Seguin Sporthorses Seguin, Texas
www.seguinsporthorses.com Stem 6660. What’s this? Stems are a bedrock concept for Holsteiner horses. The numbers track motherlines from the earliest days of the breed. They provide data that helps breeders see familial successes and consistency in breeding and competition. They are one tool used to select great crosses to produce horses with top athletic talent. You may not recognize 6660 as a famous Holsteiner stem, but Seguin
Sporthorses is “all in” with this amazing motherline. From our flagship 6660 mare alone, we produced one #1 AHHA foal in North America (now a solid amateur hunter), one beginning an eventing career under Doug Payne, and 100 percent premium ratings for the rest. From premium mares and foals to willing athletic partners, the story of this stem is just beginning. We at Seguin Sporthorses are doing our best to turn this story into a legend.
Shooting Star Farm Spofford, New Hampshire
www.shootingstarfarm.com We embrace the KWPN-NA breed and its discipline-specific approach to breeding. Our strength is focusing on strong, proven mare lines. Orchis, our foundation mare, is the high- est ranked KWPN dressage-breeding mare outside of Holland. Three of her five daughters are still in our program. Our other mare lines have all been selected to complement Orchis’. It’s taken 25 years, but having built a band of broodmares of this quality makes stallion selection simpler because the mares are going to produce well even if I make a mistake in the selection, but also more difficult because it’s difficult to find stallions of higher quality than our mares. As far as specific lines, we’re “realists”—he’s the most

consistent producer of upper level dressage horses in the KWPN, but the offspring can be hot. Along with some Holsteiner blood, such as Contango, both the Donnerhall and Florestan lines have worked well in maintaining the “hot” without sacrificing the “go.” We’re also huge Totilas fans. In 2015, our Totilas x Jazz mare, Galearites SSF, received the highest IBOP score of any mare ever in North America. Also last year, our Totilas grandson, Keno SSF (Governor (Totilas x Jazz) x Contango), was the top foal in North America. More exciting for us is that this top foal is out of an SSF-bred mare.

This cross produced two top foals of the RPSI North American tour (including all
