something to wash off ASAP to enable you to be cleansed. Imagine then my growing sense of disbelief as Donald Trump (he of the bad hair day) not only built up support in the USA but seems to be able to maintain support on the back of a series of racist, sexist anti-everything rants …so much so that unless he self implodes I think he will get the Republican nomination for President of the United States. How can this happen? The world’s most powerful nation in the hands of Donald Trump? Closer to home us British have the spectacle of Boris Johnson showing that Politicians in the UK are seemingly made without a moral compass. After several pronouncements about how important the link with the City of London and the European Union was in financial terms… Boris sees an opening to become Prime Minister and all previous thoughts and friendships go out of the window. His so called good friend Dave Cameron gets the ides of March treatment and the race to be Britain’s next PM is under way when a race had not been called. Now please do not misunderstand me…I write this not in sympathy with politicians especially British Tories but ask yourself how are the rest of us within society are supposed to behave if this is the example from the top of our establishment? An establishment so riddled with a “them and us” attitude that it takes a Government Minister six years of dishing out kickings to the poorest in Britain before he says “he can no longer carry on”. Iain Duncan Smith the quiet man of British politics with a brain the size of a peanut and the compassion of a hungry great white shark finally moves out of the limelight. Will he be missed? I doubt it.

Hey Politicians …Leave our Schools Alone. Sorry to all you old rockers out there for playing around with the

title of this missive…however that said let’s get onto the real story. Kids are our future…kids are the hope for the planet and kids are most importantly the parents of future generations. What young people need as they grow and mature is stability both at home and very importantly at school. Stability is vital as it feeds confidence and confidence itself feeds self worth. I accept that not all kids are

the same and indeed I recognize that difference in itself is vital to the creative mix that society should value in its young people. If my thinking is along the lines of being correct then why oh why is the schooling system in the UK constantly under attack from people who have no experience in the system and furthermore have no particular stake in the system. The current trend to “acadamise” everything is ludicrous as is the notion that Parent Governors do not bring anything to the management of schools. I have personal experience of being a long serving school governor and chair of governors and I can tell you that along with a good head teacher a strong board of governors is a must for a school to achieve its full potential. Hence the title of the story. With apologies to Pink Floyd.

Brussels… A wonderful city on its knees because of the actions of a few

ideological fascists…Sympathy and love to Belgium and its people.
