Quesada Bowls Club report Sponsored by

This month has seen the conclusion of the Winter SABA and SOUTHERN Leagues and congratulations must go to our Swifts players, captained by Tina Brinton, who have won their Southern League Division and promotion for next season. Well done also to our Pearls team who took second place in the SABA 1st Division.

It was an exciting finish to our Federated 4s league, where our Panthers were neck and neck with close rivals San Luis Ospreys. In the event the Panthers showed their might by taking 6 of the 8 points available to win the Southern Title by 4 points. The team then travelled to Bonalba the following week to take on old adversaries, Javea Green, for the Costa Blanca North v South title. What an exciting event; all square at the end of the match with 3 points each, so the result was determined by a 1 end play-off by two teams which had been drawn in secret at the start of the match, and was known only to the two captains. The play off was between two teams who had played in the actual match, but this time the result was reversed with the Panthers winning the end and securing the trophy.

Our Club championships have just come to an end, with our winners progressing to the Champion of Champions to be held from 18th April.
