• The Reading office of Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) has added to its team with the appointment of Mitchel Flaherty as an agency surveyor and Rachel Wilkinson as a team administrator. Flaherty joins LSH from Romans Professional Services, a local surveying firm. As part of the Reading-agency team, he will be working across the office and industrial markets, carrying out disposals and acquisitions within the Reading and Bracknell area. Wilkinson has been appointed to provide full secretarial and administrative support to the agency team. She will be responsible for keeping the office’s records and contacts up to date, ensuring that the team runs efficiently and effectively, in addition to helping organise meetings and internal events. Before joining LSH, she held roles within the marine, oil-and-gas and aviation markets.
• Based in Guildford, SpatialBuzz, a cloud-based customer experience analytics and service monitoring specialist, has announced the appointment of new chief executive officer Peter Young. Young joins the SpatialBuzz team following a two-year position as head of technology at Nokia. Prior to that he held a number of senior leadership roles within the telecommunication and technology sectors. Young has a proven track record in business development and product management on an international scale. While at Mesaplexx, the UK/ Australian-based technology start-up, he held a board role and was responsible for all the commercial aspects of the business. Prior to working for Nokia and Mesaplexx, Young led
EMEA sales at Infotech, now Cyient, a leading provider of graphical information systems and services. His background in global sales and marketing was founded during his time at Aircom International, now Teoco, where he held roles such as European sales director and strategic alliances director.

• Since July 2015, membership of the Thames Valley Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership executive board and forum has changed by 45%, heralding a new phase of leadership to implement the Strategic Economic Plan for the area. The latest three professionals to join the LEP forum are Dr Philippa Roles of Field Seymour Parkes LLP; Charles Eales of Microsoft UK; and Campbell Christie CBE of Bracknell and Wokingham College. Roles is a partner at Field Seymour Parkes, and brings experience in finance and governance. She has been a legal adviser to the LEP since its inception and will support the nominations and governance activity. Eales, who is head of public sector relations at Microsoft UK, has particular expertise in communications and government relations, as well as knowledge relating to strategic transport issues across the sub region. Christie is principal and CEO at Bracknell and Wokingham College, has a wealth of experience in the education and military sector, and will ensure that the needs of young people entering the workplace and businesses looking to take on appropriately-skilled employees are appropriately represented. Peter Read, chairman of Thames Valley Berkshire LEP, said: “The appointments of Philippa, Charles and Campbell will bolster the private and public sector membership of our board, which comes at a crucial time for the LEP as we maximise investment.“
• The Business Magazine, the leading B2B events and publishing house in the region, has announced that Carry de la Harpe has been promoted to editor. After a successful two years as content editor, de la Harpe now takes on the role as editor, commissioning writers, overseeing news and features in the magazines, newsletters and websites. She joined Elcot Publications in 2005 as production manager and two years later moved into the role of production editor.

With a BA Degree in English and Art History, de la Harpe started her working life as a copywriter with TBWA in South Africa. She obtained a postgraduate Degree in English Literature and a Diploma with Honours in Marketing and Advertising, and her career has spanned a variety of advertising, marketing, PR and publishing roles, including running her own marketing communications agency for four years before moving to the UK and joining Elcot.
