32 taxation 10 years of leading tax advice
to entrepreneurial businesses We are delighted to announce that this month HMT tax director Holly Bedford-Bell celebrates 10 years of leading the tax advisory services to ambitious entrepreneurial businesses at the firm
Bedford-Bell qualified with Arthur Andersen in 1994 and specialised in international tax. After working for numerous years in the UK, she was then seconded to the USA to work in their international tax division in Chicago.
On returning to the UK, Bedford-Bell joined HMT in 2006. She specialises in transactional tax, working on a broad range of acquisitions, buyouts, disposals and capital restructurings, gaining extensive experience along the way. She has also advised on the implementation of employee share incentive schemes and a variety of personal tax planning issues covering income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax. Bedford-Bell is one of the key advisers at HMT which helped it to succeed at the British Accountancy Awards in 2015.
Bedford-Bell's significant expertise has played a major role in countless key deals for the firm. In 2015 she has advised on the MBOs of International Logistics Group, Oxford Computer Group and Jellyfish Solutions, and the disposals
of Keltec, The History Press Inc. and Green Board Game Company.
Her reputation for being a specialist in transactional tax has also seen her become a leading local authority and she has written numerous articles regarding the ever developing tax environment. Bedford-Bell is also seen as an expert in capital demergers in the Thames Valley.
Over these 10 years, Bedford-Bell has become an invaluable member of the HMT team and is now heading up its tax department. HMT is delighted to celebrate her 10th anniversary and is looking forward to many more years to come.
Bedford-Bell commented: “HMT is a great place to work and I have really enjoyed the past 10 years here. We are lucky to have such a varied and interesting client base and a close-knit team, the work is always changing and always challenging.”
Ian Barton, partner at HMT commented: “Having worked with many tax advisers at many firms over the years, you appreciate when an adviser both gives advice and goes the extra miles to deliver solutions. Holly captures both technical excellence and pragmatic, positive support to our clients on transactions and helps make HMT the leading transactional firm in the Thames Valley.”
