GALVIN AT WINDOWS
found a gem you will really enjoy next time you are in London Galvin at Windows Michelin-starred restaurant and bar is located on the 28th Floor of London Hilton on Park Lane in the heart of Mayfair, it is renowned for its stunning views over the capital, including some of the most iconic sites: from the sky scrapers of the City and Canary Wharf, to the London Eye, Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace and Wembley Stadium. While sitting in glamorous and stylish the club – like bar were you can enjoy cocktails, and aperitifs.
Sipping a glass of champagne browsing through the inspired menus based around modern French haute cuisine, and enjoying the amazing views, we selected our choices for lunch.
Called to our table in the stylish luxurious dinning room, the restaurant manager guided us through the meal and the sommelier
through the wine list .
I started with the delicious Loch Fyne salmon, Dorset crab, beetroot, horseradish and dill, this was so special wonderful flavours and my companion feasted on Seared yellowfin tuna, aubergine, green beans & sweet soy vinaigrette, great flavours. My main course was perfect Roasted loin & ragout of South Downs venison Red cabbage, salsify, dark chocolate & roasting jus, the venison with out a doubt the best I have had, exquisite flavor melt in the mouth and with the finishing touch of dark chocolate, heavenly, one can order additional side dishes of vegetables.
The wines choosen for us were a perfect compliment to the talented Chef’s cooking. We were then invited to try a selection of French cheeses.
Desserts to follow we both indulged in Nougat parfait, persimmon, Muscovado meringues & black pepper ice cream, utterly delicious. Service throughout our visit was flawless.
Coffee was served back in the bar area were the dusk was falling and a completely different view was to be seen with twinkling lights all over the city, one cold have sat for hours just looking at that view.
All excellent, beautifully presented dishes, served in elegant surroundings, shared with good company made for a wonderful lunchtime, you’ll love it.
