Currently our winter programme is in full swing, and our SABA Pearls team is currently leading their division with our Southern League Swifts also holding top spot.
Good news for the Club with the recent success of Peter Bonsor, Spanish National Men’s singles champion, who has recently been playing in the World Champion of Champions competition in Australia, where he won a bronze medal, narrowly missing out on the silver medal position after an extra end in the semi final.
Pete and wife Lisa, left Australia and travelled directly to Cyprus to represent Spain in the Atlantic Rim Championships, the qualifying event for the 2016 World Championships in Australia. Pete and Lisa are joined by club mates Bill Pain, Peta Rhodes and Jacqui Johnston and at the time of going to press the news is that they are all progressing well in their divisional matches, and look to qualify for the big event.
Our Saturday morning ‘Chicken Drive’ is open to visitors. Players wishing to take part should report at 9.45am for a 10am start.
The Bowls Clubs has an active social programme and visitors are welcome.
