Town Talk Head looks forward as
THE new school at Holborough Lakes, Snodland has opened, after having to start the September term in the village hall. Valley Invicta Primary School
began with three teachers and 33 children and ended the first term with 41 pupils. Head teacher Dr Jonny Rodgers
wrote to parents: "It seems so much more than seven weeks since we first welcomed your chil- dren in to the village hall. We now have a new building which we hope you have taken the opportu- nity to visit and, although buildings do not make a school, we are very proud of our new premises. "More importantly than bricks
and mortar, we now have a group of motivated, can-do, charming so- cial learners. Your children never cease to amaze us with their re- silience, kindness and positivity." He said it had been a pleasure to

Principal post new school opens doors
remains unfilled THE governors of St Katherine's Primary School, Snodland have so far been unable to find a head- teacher to replace Sharon Alexan- der, who left the school on December 31 last year after being suspended in May 2013. Chairman of the governors John
Edgar wrote to parents: “As the process has gone on longer than we anticipated, we have formally reviewed our current leadership arrangements. "I am pleased to inform you that
Mr Cadwallader has agreed to continue as acting head and I would like to thank him for his con- tinued commitment to the school." Mr Edgar said Barbara Scott had agreed to take on the role of exec- utive head. He added: "The governing body
is determined to appoint the best person as our new headteacher and until that position is filled these roles will remain in place." As reported in Downs Mail in
March this year, Mrs Alexander left St Katherine's "to concentrate on her family". She succeeded Allan Adams, who was head of the school for 25 years, in April 2012.
