Successful start up for Visy press after Toscotec upgrade

This was achieved by installing a new framing for the press section a state-of-the- art TT XPress shoe press as third nip, working with a maximum nip load of 1300kN/m at an operating speed of 1,000 m/min. The addition of a new TT SteelDryer- SD1500 at the beginning of the dryer section completed the upgrade.

Kvarnsveden mill signs consumables deal


Sweden’s Stora Enso Kvarnsveden mill has signed a five-year agreement with Valmet for the supply of paper machine and fibre line consumables including clothing, doctor blades, refiner segments, winder consumables and selected roll covers. The agreement also includes local roll maintenance operations next to Kvarnsveden’s site at Borlänge. “With our advanced services

maintenance and production is part of the agreement. The performance of consumables is optimised by taking advantage of remote analytics and the skills of Valmet’s technology experts. In addition, Valmet will keep a ready stock of consumables for Kvarnsveden.

Huanggang will be world’s largest dissolving pulp producer


Chenming Pulp & Paper’s new pulp mill at Huanggang in Hubei province, China, will be supplied with key equipment by Valmet. Designed to be flexible to meet changing market demand, the line will be able to produce softwood kraft pulp and dissolving pulp when it starts up in 2017. “Huanggang will be our new business location, where we plan to have a three-phase investment. This pulp mill investment is the first phase. We have been cooperating


with Valmet close to 20 years. Our people trust Valmet’s know-how and its service spirit. We are happy to select Valmet as the main equipment supplier to this project,” says Chen Hongguo, chairman of Chenming Group. The Huanggang pulp mill will be the world’s largest dissolving pulp producer. Valmet will also be supplying a separate non- condensable gas incinerator for the Chenming Group’s Zhanjiang mill.
