NORWICH BODY ART FESTIVAL 2015 ARTISTS
PHRED
Divine Canvas London
What’s it like working at such a renowned studio as Divine Canvas? It s completely unlike any other studios I have worked in before. I’m surrounded by very free minded people, each with a different artistic view who are all very dedicated to their creativity. Tere s a sense of respect and kindness I have never experienced before in a studio. And of course we are all benefiting from the huge artistic influence of Xed and the legacy of his contribution to the dot/geometry tattoo trade. How did you first start tattooing? I was living then in Camden Town working in a pub and one evening I had the insight that tattooing was what I should be doing! As a child I was always drawing and later at school drawing on tables during long hours of boring classes. How would you describe your personal style? Ornamental with the use of sacred geometry I suppose. What the best or most interesting tattoo you’ve ever done? It changes every month! At the moment it’s experimenting with seamless geometry. I also like free hand eastern ornamental shapes. What are you most looking forward to at Norwich Body Art Festival? Have an easy time with the good vibes of Norwich people!

SANTA PERPETUA
Black Sails Brighton
What’s the Brighton tattoo scene like at the moment? I think is great! We are in a good place at the moment. Talking about styles, we have amazing, innovative and varied artists; reaching perfection in technique terms is fantastic. From my point of view, Brighton is definitely an important hub in the tattoo world. How did you first start tattooing? I've started formally in 2008, but I started developing my current style since 2013 when I first came to England. How would you describe your personal style? Tat's tricky! I suppose I’m into the Graphic Style movement because part of my work has elements generated by computers. I studied Communication Science and I've been working as a graphic designer for more than 20 years, so I can't help putting all that knowledge and experience into my tattoo pieces. But on the other hand, I grew up in a family of fine artists and definitely this fact has affected me as well. What the best tattoo you’ve ever done? I can't tell just one. In general I tend to put my soul into every work I do. Tey all are my lovely children! In general I prefer it when the client allows me to give some input into it. I definitely think my best works are the ones in which I can be completely free in order to create and link the design in with the customer’s thoughts. What are you most looking forward to at Norwich Body Art Festival? Tis is going to be my first convention; I’m excited! I’m looking forward to meeting nice people, doing my art and having fun in there!
