Los Alcazares has their 44th International Fiesta of the Countryside and Sea from the 14th to the 29th August. This fiesta has been declared as being of Regional Tourist Interest. It features many different aspects of country life and that of the sea, including carriage rides, gastronomy, dance, music and different activities throughout.

The biggest event in the entire region takes place at the end of the month, which will typically attract hundreds of thousands of tourists to Torrevieja and the surrounding area, just for a couple of days. On Sunday, August 30th, hundreds of professional cyclists and their teams head to Torrevieja for the start of Stage 9 of La Vuelta, the Tour of Spain. Stage 9 leaves from Torrevieja and follows a route of 168.3 kilometres of mostly rolling roads finishing in Cumbre del Sol. Riders head towards Alicante and after racing inland for a while head back to the coast, going through Benidorm and then continue to Calpe and on to the finish. Details have yet to be published of the exact route and times but we hope to have all this information for you next month.

We try to ensure that all information on forthcoming events is correct. All information is sent directly to us from the organisers or local town halls and not just taken from other sources. We still advise you to check any information as there are sometimes last minute changes or cancellations which are out of our control.
