June has been a hectic month as far as the bowling calendar for the club is concerned and with all the leagues reaching their conclusion it is great news for the Club as our SABA Blenheims squad has once again captured the Division 1 League title, making it a hat-trick, and this was done with a match in hand. Well done to all the players who participated in the magnificent effort.
The Valencian Championship League has had mixed fortunes for both our Lions and Tigers, where the Lions, with one match to go have a very slim chance of topping the League. All depends on the results from several teams before the final places are decided with one match to play to complete the league.
Tuesday evenings sees the Premier 20 League progressing well, where, after a rocky start we are progressing gradually.
July 9th saw the start of our annual Friendly League with our neighbours Greenlands Bowls Club. This has been going for many years and has always been a great success with the teams vying for shots each week, with the eventual winner being the club with the most shots at the end of 8 weeks.
On Friday 31st July the club is hosting a fun evening, with entertainment, fun bowling, stalls and a BBQ. This is open to non members so anybody interested should enquire at the bar at The Club. The event commences at 4pm.
Our Saturday morning ‘Chicken Drive’ is open to visitors. Players wishing to take part should report at 9.15am for a 9.30am start.
