The Wateringbury is inviting local residents to enjoy its recent refurbishments
The Wateringbury, Maidstone, has reopened after an extensive refurbishment. With more comfortable seating as well as a lighter and brighter feel, the upgraded pub restaurant is the perfect venue to while away a few hours with friends over great food and a drink or two.
The Wateringbury is situated on the outskirts of Maidstone, in the heart of the Kent Countryside. The River Medway runs next to the quaint location of Wateringbury which used to power three Watermills in the village. You can sit back and relax in the traditional pub setting taking in these beautiful surroundings.
This historic pub which dates back to the 18th century was originally known as the Kings Head and is said to be a stopping point for Queen Victoria when travelling from London to the coast. The venue has retained many of its original features, including its olde worlde interior and exposed wooden beams, creating the perfect environment to enjoy a true British pub experience.
The outside seating area is perfect for long summer evenings to relax and is ideal for enjoying one of their speciality local cask ales. The latest refurbishment means the pub can
continue to play an important role in the local community for years to come.
After enjoying a peaceful day in the beautiful Kentish countryside, why not sit in the summer sun and enjoy the 2 course evening set menu from 4pm Monday to Thursday. The menu has a great range of treats, from a Sweet Potato and Mozzarella burger to the Brewer’s Chicken and if you have enough room they offer a delicious range of puddings including a fantastic Sticky Toffee Roulade. Alternatively experience the lunch offer of a main course or sandwich for £4.99 and add a starter or pudding for just £3 each. The Rare Beef or Pulled Pork Sandwiches are a perfectly filling lunchtime option.
The pub is also renowned for serving tasty Sunday lunches, including its succulent Roast Topside of Beef, Roast Turkey Breast and Roast British Pork Leg. The Wateringbury also offers its famous Trio of Roasts, a combination of the three aforementioned dishes served with all the trimmings.
General Manager, Stephen Crook is looking forward to welcoming guests back to the Wateringbury. “We’re delighted with the quality of our latest renovation and can’t wait
to show off our new look. We’re proud to play a pivotal role in our local community and are pleased that the refurbishment allows us to continue the tradition of being a destination Kent can be proud of.”
“We’re looking forward to sharing our fresh new look with returning and new guests alike over the coming weeks and providing them with a meal to remember in an enviable setting.”
You can now download the latest Chef and Brewer app with which you can reserve a table and browse the latest menus and offers. The Wateringbury is open Monday to Saturday 12 noon – 11.00pm, and Sunday 12 noon – 10:00pm.
