MAIDSTONE Rugby Club crowned an unbeaten season by adding the RFU Intermediate Cup to the league title and regional cup. They beat Shropshire side Bridg-
north 31-18 at Twickenham in the intermediate final to clinch the tre- ble.
The result ended Bridgnorth’s 38-
match unbeaten run as Maidstone, who recently won the London 2 (SE) championship, scored four tries.

Guilty of assault Nursery rated outstanding
A MAIDSTONE man appeared at Mid Kent Magistrates’ Court where he admitted two counts of assault. Perry Luck (24), of Bicknor
Road, Park Wood, assaulted two men in Ham Lane, Lenham. He was ordered to carry out
150 hours of unpaid work and pay a total of £150 in compensa- tion, £50 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.

TRADITIONAL family entertain- ment will be on offer at Otham and Langley Parish Church Fete on the village green on Saturday, June 20. Tea and cake will be served for the
older guests, while side shows will entertain families. There will also be the usual plant, book, toy and jam stalls, along with fruit and burger sales.
Entertainment will include a chil-
dren’s choir, dance troupes, vintage army trucks and the Woofs Dog Show. The afternoon will be rounded off with children’s and adults races and the tug ofwar. Anyone interested in entering
their dog in the show should come along before the show begins at 2pm and register their pet at the central arena. Owners are asked to keep their dogs on the lead at all times.

A MAN has appeared in court where he admitted assaulting a po- lice officer and being drunk and disorderly. Dale Cooper (51), of Knightrider
Street, Maidstone, assaulted a po- lice officer and was drunk and dis- orderly in Gabriel’s Hill, Maidstone. Hewas sentenced to 30 days in prison and fined £50. He must also pay £235 costs and an £80 victim surcharge.
