APLAN for the transformation of the former Bull pub at Snodland into a Co-op supermarket has been unveiled. A proposal for the 0.16hectare


site on the corner of Holborough Road in the town centre include a new 192sqm extension to provide additional retail space as well as storage and a bakery preparation room.


External alterations would also include the installation of anATM,


new customer entrances with slid- ing doors, areas for planting and an improved car park layout. An application for the change of


use has been submitted to Ton- bridge and Malling Council by The Co-operative Group Food Limited. Following pre-application discus- sions with the borough’s planning officals, the design has been amended to make the single-storey extension shorter and wider to bet- ter fit with the existing property.

SNODLAND Town Council went to the polls on May 7 when the 15 members were elected. Conserva- tives took all the seats in the two wards with just one councillor,Paul Hickmott, winning for Labour. Town council chairman Anne Moloney (left) stepped down from the borough council at this election, but will continue as a member of the


town council. She said: “I am ab- solutely delighted somanyvery ex-
