Ryarsh


Brickworks Workwas starting at the former Ryarsh Brickworks. Vehicleswere already trying to visit. The council would ask for signage making it clear that the site could not be accessed via Old School Lane. Redrow would also be asked to carry out maintenance work to the bank alongside The Street, and for some land on the site to be passed to the parish council to use for allotments. Horses Councillorswere concerned about horses continuing to use the footpath between the Quarry and The Street. Election The borough council had issued notice of an uncontested election for Ryarsh Parish Council. Full detailswere on www.tmbc.gov.uk. Buses Borough Cllr Mahew Balfourwas asked to look into a possible change of bus timetable so that the first bus from the village left after 9.30am, so that residents could use the senior citizen’s bus pass. Investigation Tonbridge and Malling Council’s enforcement officer had confirmed that a planning issue at Whiakers, Church Lane, Troiscliffewas being investigated. ThanksAleer of thanks had been received from Troiscliffe school for the donation from the parish council. Chairs The village hall commiee expressed thanks for the donation which would be used to provide new chairs. Parking Concern had been expressed by residents about parking outside Prunelle and Clarion Coage in Church Lane near the junction with School Lane and the PCSO had been asked to look at this. SpeedWatch Addington Parish Councilwas looking for another parish council interested in sharing the speed equipment but itwas agreed not to take this up.


Wateringbury


Bash the trash An encouraging number of volunteers came forward to help tidy the village. The village schoolchildren had responded magnificently to the anti-lier poster competition sponsored by the Sports and Recreation Association. Cemetery Councillorswere considering lowering or removing the hedge along the boundary of the cemetery car park and Tonbridge Road in an effort to deter fly- tipping. The chestnut fencing would remain. Another incident had recently occurred when a large amount of gardenwastewas dumped. Crime report Two shedswere broken into in Old Road and garden equipment stolen. Two leaf blowers and a hedge trimmerwere stolen from a vehicle parked in Hanbury Close.An arrestwas made following an incident in PizienWell Road when a rock was thrown through a window. The conceptwas agreed unanimously. Crime report There had been three incidents reported since the last meeting. These included the theft of a rug from a horse, an oil theft and a break-in at a unit in Mahews Lane. County councillor’s report Cllr Mahew Balfourwas thanked for the recent funding of £750 received for the taxi voucher scheme. He confirmed the planned roadworks at the end of Seven Mile Lane.Aroundaboutwas being installed at the junction with the A20. He also apologised for the number of potholes and said theywere being repaired as quickly as possible. Road signs Therewere four incidences of damaged or fallen road signs – two along Swanton Road, one on Hamptons Road and one at the junction of Stan Lane and Forge Lane. These had now been repaired. Surface damage Damage to Swanton Road had been reported to Kent Highway Services. Traffic calming gates Thesewere to be reported for repair when theweather improved. Village history project Cllr Ron Wright said that resident DanielWebbwas keen to get involved with the project. Itwas agreed that he would be a great asset to the project. Welcome packApackwas to be delivered to the residents at Cobtrees, Forge Lane. Jubilee bench Contributionswere expected to meet £2,100 following further donations including and amount from the friends of Dave Smart. The order for the bench could now be placed.
