FBC TRAINERS

efore the days of LinkedIn, Facebook and Pinterest, most fitness pros could get away with a so-so headshot taken in the backyard by a

friend or cropped from a family wed- ding shot. But in today’s business world, it is

important to present yourself as a pro- fessional in all ways. High-quality pub- licity shots that accurately represent you and your personality can instantly attract potential clients to your busi- ness and services—or send them seek- ing another more-appealing face. Use these tips to get a photo you’re

hair, says Chatterton. “Good lighting can help smooth out skin tones and I can touch up a shiny nose, but I can’t fix bad hair.” Many photographers have a little face powder on hand to eliminate shiny spots for men, and they can also touch up any blemishes and stray hairs in the editing process.

Consider the context If your photo is for your website and

its predominant colours are blue and green, how will the yellow top you’re wearing look? Will a light or a dark

“The photographer, who took this photo for his society column, has the great ability to capture people’s true essence. He shot this with very little muss and fuss, and his relaxing banter and swagger quickly made me comfortable. This is the shot that I get the most compliments on.”
