Rinaldi’s Energy Solutions: Serving the Community

Rinaldi’s Energy Solutions has served the Greater Orlando community since 1969. Robert “Bob” Vincent Rinaldi had worked as a fi re- man for the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral when he and his wife, Diane, founded Rinaldi’s Energy Solutions. On his days off from fi refi ghting, he learned the skills to open an air condi- tioning business. When Bob retired from the Cape, other family members and long- term employees continued to build a level of competence and trust in the Rinaldi name that grew over the years. Bob’s oldest son, Robert “Bobby” Charles Rinaldi, grew up “with the business in my blood, helping my father nearly every step of the way until he retired. I became president in 1995.” General Manager Scott Hudson, who has spent two decades with Rinaldi’s, runs the day-to-day operations. Starting as an installation technician, Hudson’s knowledge and experience suit these energy-conscious times. Russ Rinaldi, Senior comfort consultant, and his wife Denise Rinaldi, who manages the offi ce staff, provide additional customer service.

we go after it,” says Hudson. “A couple of years ago an elderly woman’s home was destroyed by fi re after being hit by lightning. There was a dispute with her insurance company coverage. We heard about it and rallied our friends in the construc- tion business for roofi ng and interior furnishings.”

They hired a general con- tractor; found an outfi t to han- dle the demolition and instal- lation of the roof, a lightning protection system that would protect from future lightning strikes. Home Depot donated nearly $10,000 in materials.

Rinaldi’s handled the AC and heating system, duct- work, ventilation, insulation and plumbing. “We are fi rm believers in the concept of customer care, on all levels, and we take opportunities like this to reach out to the community and provide care when we can,” says Hudson. “This has been part of the company’s mission. We’re extremely proud of our outreach efforts to low income and elderly persons in our community.” Rinaldi’s supports the United Way, Boy Scouts, Make a Wish Foundation, Toys for Tots, Child Res- cue Network, Viet Nam Veterans, Helping Hands, Base Camp organizations, and many others. For the company’s 40th

anniversary, Rinald’s held 10 char-

ity events raising nearly $50,000 to support animal rescue, children and youth organizations, health care groups and more. One of Rinaldi’s pet community organizations is

Class Athlete, founded by Roy Bova, President. Class Athlete in Casselberry, Florida, offers indoor/ outdoor soccer and fl ag football seasons, plus bas- ketball, for children and adults. As a youth sports coach for 10 years, Bova says he wanted to create a program to highlight student achievement on and off the fi eld “with a long-term goal of building a facility

specifi cally dedicated to Class Athlete.” The school/ community/athletic partnership provides after-school tutoring, before practice, and works with the schools to coordinate study modules. The number has quickly grown from 59 athletes the fi rst year to 800 to 1,000 players each season. Hudson, of Rinaldi’s Air Conditioning, has been one of the biggest supporters, says Bova, and the Hudson family has been involved since 2009. Rinaldi’s pres- ence has made an impact on the community for their “generosity in supporting kids, veterans, the elderly, and animals,” says Bova. “We are so grateful for their interest in Class Athlete.”
