Mountain Home couple share their old-fashioned tale of love

t was 1952, at a drive-in ice cream parlor in Pensaco- la, Fla., when this romance began. Both of our love birds were 24 years old at the time, and had come in separate cars, unknown to one another. But, boy, did that change. By the end of the night, Oscar Sims knew he had just seen the most beautiful girl in the next car over


—and as fate would have it, he’s been looking into her eyes ever since. Oscar and Jeannie Sims, now 87, live happily together


in Mountain Home today after more than six decades of wedded bliss. They’re anticipating the 63rd anniversary of their spring marriage on May 1. They dated for two months before exchanging their vows. “I had just spent four years in Japan and Korea during
