ARKANSAS MECHANICS ASSOCIATION TO HOLD 60TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE

Bus Mechanics Asso- ciation will hold its 60th annual conference this summer in Conway, Ark. Tis conference is one of the oldest and largest in


the country devoted solely to school bus technicians. Attendance, on average, runs around 325 public school mechanics from several states. With the help of industry sponsors, it offers about 75 differ- ent classes through the week that range from multiplex wiring and engine diagnostics to CPR. Te conference is open to all school bus technicians nationwide. Te Arkansas Tech/Inspect competition has been held at this


conference the last two years. Te Association then pays for the winner of each category to attend the America’s Best Tech/In- spect competition. More

TEXAS KEEPS BUSY IN 2010 Te Texas Association of School Bus Technicians announced


its third annual technicians competition will be hosted by Brian Weisinger at Spring ISD on March 27. Te two winners will be sent to the America’s Best School Bus Inspector and School Bus Technician Training and Skills Competition in the fall. Te class, “Tire and Wheel Maintenance and Repair,” was presented for the first time at the Gulf Coast Chapter’s Winter Conference in League City, last month. Te association also announced that member- ship increased in the past year from 150 to 220 active members. Te TASBT summer conference is in Arlington, June 18-23.


FREE TRAINING IN OHIO Te Ohio School Bus Mechanics Association, in partnership


with Lt. Brian Reigle of the Department of Public Safety’s Licens- ing and Commercial Standards section, is holding free in-service meetings throughout the state during the months of March and April.
