MAIL BAG
IT REPEATS ITSELF Just a quick note to thank you for an excellent overview of School Bus History. I have enjoyed reading your outstanding three-part series in Dick Fischer’s SBSNews e-mail newsletter. I appreciate your keen insights into our industry through STN coverage. Carlisle Beasley, Past President NAPT
Editor’s note: STN ran a piece on the history of the large school bus in its August 2007 magazine issue. A more in-depth history that covers the in- dustry starting in 1886 is available online at
www.stnonline.com/go/477.
Wanna Play? Te following are a few responses we’ve received on the 2010 Buyer’s Guide cover depicting kids playing a school bus board game. As men- tioned in the referenced issue, the concept was developed by our creative team. STN currently has no plans to actually produce the game, however we’d like to continue to hear your thoughts.
How can we get the game featured on the cover of the Buyer’s Guide? What a great educational tool. Janet Bergstresser, Eastern Lancaster County Schools New Holland, Pa.
I am sure you have or will receive MANY requests for this game. I read the commentary on page 136 of the magazine hoping to find how much it would cost and how to place an order. Just wanted to let you know, if you DO decide to produce the “School Bus Game,” please contact me; I am sure several of us here want one. Michelle L Souders, Routing Specialist Bartholomew (Ind.) Consolidated School Corp.
We are wondering if the game that is pictured on the front of the STN Buyer’s Guide if available for purchase. If it is, could you please send me the information? Cindy Mueller, Transportation Department Canadian Rockies Public Schools in Canmore, Alberta
Te current issue of STN [2010 Buyer’s Guide] shows a school bus Monop- oly game on the cover and throughout the magazine. Where can the game be purchased? Please let me know. I don’t know who to contact or where to find it. Tank you. Sharon Crane, School Bus Driver Instructor/Dispatcher Atwater (Calif.) Elementary School District
FOR THE RECORD
Please note the following corrections for the 2010 STN Buyer’s Guide: David Harden, the assistant vice president of sales for IC Bus, is in- correctly listed as Dave Harden. His correct e-mail address is david.
harden@navistar.com. Readers attempting to reach Maxon Lift Corp., should contact Anton Griessner, vice president of marketing and business development, at
AGriessner@maxonlift.com. Maxon’s fax number should read 888/771-7713. American Logistics Company should have been listed as a School Bus Contractor on Components and Suppliers reference page and in the company’s profile.
