Prairie 360 83 Garry Street

Closed for more than a decade, Win- nipeg’s only revolving restaurant has been reopened by Noel Bernier who owns the popular Hermano’s Restau- rant in the Exchange along with other fine establishments. We say, Bravo! Te view is stupen-

dous and there is nothing more excit- ing than being there during a prairie thunderstorm or when the Northern lights are dancing across the sky. How- ever, if you are just thinking about the food, I have to say you will be im- pressed. Te owners pride themselves on using farm-fresh Manitoba prod- ucts, and it shows in the quality. Tere is a wonderful brined pepper

and mushroom salad, and I highly rec- ommend the brined peppers. Te ap- petizer of two giant prawns marinated with ginger and garlic then glazed with Manitoba honey was enough for a meal. Te Pork Wellington with apricots,

leeks and roasted pumpkin seeds, spaetzle and local vegetables was de- licious. Te meal was flavourful, per- fectly done and beautifully presented, the vegetables fresh and cooked to perfection. I was thrilled with the spaetzle. My companions were just as happy with the lamb and the venison scaloppini. We simply did not have room for dessert; so if you have a hearty appe- tite, this is the place to be. Dinner entree’s range from $24 to

$48 (more if you want to sample the specially aged beef and elk menu), but it is worth it. Te service was excellent and the wine menu complimented the food perfectly. Prairie 360 offers Sunday brunch

from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and there is a kids menu. Tere is also a whiskey lounge on the floor below for more ca- sual dining.
