Birding Hour - Winter Birds Dec. 21, 2014 at 1 p.m. Approximately 10% of our birds stay in Manitoba during the winter. Learn how to recognize the birds visiting your feeder. Workshop fee is $5 plus admission.

Big Fun Festival brings winter fun and music together.


Snowshoe Workshop Jan. 24, 2015 from 1-3 p.m. Learn some snowshoe history followed by a walk in the marsh and hot choco- late. Pre-registration is required. Work- shop fee is $5 plus admission.


World Wetland Day & Groundhog Day Feb. 2, 2015 Celebrate World Wetland Day. Take in slide and video presentations, and tour the marsh on guided walks to learn how important wetlands are around the world.


Bird Love Workshop Feb. 14, 2015 from 1-2 p.m. Learn the many different courtships and mating rituals of birds in this 1 hour workshop. Cost is $5 plus admission.


Voyageur Day Feb. 16, 2015 Experience the life of a voyageur in a fun way. Practice your hunting and trading skills during the Voyageur Challenge, put your speed and agility to the test with the Concours des Meilleurs and make your very own bannock.


BIG FUN FESTIVAL Jan. 28 - Feb. 1, 2015 Big Fun Festival is an annual music festi- val held in multiple venues throughout downtown Winnipeg in January. Using Winnipeg’s prairie winter as the back- drop, the festival will showcase the best of Manitoba’s current and upcoming artists as well as some hand-picked acts from across Canada. Manitoba maintains a reputation for having a rich artistic community as well as a cold winter. Big Fun Festival brings these two elements of our province together to create an annual music festival our city can be proud of. bigfunfestival.com
