Mark Stucklin Our columnist in Spain, Barcelona based Mark has been a commentator on the market for many years and runs the authoratitive website, spanishpropertyinsight.com. He looks at the issue of buying off plan on page 7.

Cathy Hawker Not everyone wants a rural renovation project in Italy these days. This issue our jet-set reporter takes a look at the best town and city pads - from Venice to Sicily - see page 83.

Gordon Miller Gordon has written about overseas property for over 15 years for, amongst others, The FT, Sunday Times and the Daily Telegraph. On page 107 he looks at how easy it is to move Down Under. You may be pleasantly surprised...

Adrian Simpson A Place in the Sun presenter Adrian reveals the highs and lows of buying a home and then relocating his family to the emerging Balkan nation of Montenegro. The full story on page 54.

Katie Gutteridge In 2012 Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were rumoured to have tied the knot in the Turks & Caicos islands. We now know that wasn’t true, but it’s a surprisingly aff ordable place to invest, reports writer Katie on page 112.

Mary Wilson If you are seeking a modest sized investment abroad that will bring in good returns, it’s hard to go wrong with a two-bedroom apartment on a holiday resort with use of a pool. On page 45 Mary picks some of the best for £100k.

Richard Way Overseas property commentator Richard Way helps our property hunters fi nd a home in the fashionable Turkish resort of Yalikavak (page 115) as well as looking at the best locations behind the Costa Blanca coastal resorts (page 30).

Charlotte Buckingham A move abroad can seem a huge and risky step, but here Charlotte writes beautifully about her joys and fears of relocating to rural France with her young daughter (page 91) .

I am not sure that there’s been a more exciting time in overseas property since I started writing about it 15 years ago. Happy days were spent covering the relentless boom of markets at the birth of the millennium but documenting the various states of recovery of the hardest hit countries in 2014 has been much more fun. T e pound at a near two-year-high against the euro has been one catalyst within the fragile eurozone economy where Greece, Spain and Portugal are now fl ourishing to diff ering extents. It’s wonderful to see so many of our recent TV property hunters proving successful at buying an overseas home in the past year (see page 97) - surely a snapshot of the wider market. As we go to press French mortgage rates have dropped to eye-popping all- time lows but numbers aside, nothing sells the lifestyle “dream” better than our features on rural France (page 91), retirement in Cyprus (page 41) or Italian cities (page 83). Enjoy the issue.

Welcome
