battles commence. In the evening, the BBQ gets lit and everyone kicks back and reflects on the day’s events. Drivers and members from other teams all socialise together and it’s almost like a festival. Everyone is friends and each event is used to catch up with old friends and make new ones. Balancing a full time career in the RAF, supporting his young family and Drifting can be exhausting
but with the support from work and family he manages it, and the weekends at events make it all worthwhile.
Ryan recently produced his race of the season in Round four of the Maxxis Tyres British Drift championships at the Teeside Autodrome with a fourth place finish. This means that in his first season he has qualified to make a step up
in class, racing against professional drivers in coming races.
With the car properly setup and confidence building, Ryan looks forward to being able to drive harder as the season progresses, putting on a show for the public and representing not only his team ‘it’s a DRIFTlife’ and their sponsors but also the Royal Air Force.
