“With more than 4,500 displays completed in 56 countries, countless audiences will have seen these qualities demonstrated for themselves over the years.
“In our 50th display season, the Team remains an important public face of the Royal Air Force.
“The very nature of the work undertaken by the Service often goes on out of sight of everyday gaze.
“That is why it is crucial we continue to highlight how the Royal Air Force is a modern, adaptable and capable force.
“All members of the Team are very proud to be a part of this 50th display season and are honoured to have the opportunity to entertain audiences at home and around the world.”

Among the number of highlights of 2014, the Team displayed at three of the UK’s biggest airshows in July – the RAF Waddington International Airshow, the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) at RAF Fairford and the Farnborough International Airshow, which were held on consecutive weekends.
RIAT was a focal point of the 50th celebrations, with the Squadron flying in a spectacular mixed formation with aircraft from other, international, display teams and also Gnats – the jet originally flown by the Red Arrows until the Hawk took over in 1980.
The Red Arrows also collected the Spirit of the Meet Trophy and the Steedman Display Sword at RIAT, in recognition of their achievements.
And the pilots and engineers had the honour of being presented to His Royal Highness The
Prince of Wales, who visited the airshow.
RIAT also came in the same month the Team was the subject of an hour-long documentary on BBC2 – the culmination of many weeks of filming.
The programme, called Inside The Bubble, gave the audience an unrivalled view of what it takes to become a Red Arrows pilot, including the demanding training undertaken each year by the Team in Cyprus, where they perfect their precision display.
Watched by millions of people, the documentary reinforced the enduring appeal of a Team that continues to represent the best of British and excellence.
