The Wedding Of Fenella Champness
Father Aidan Doyle OSB from Belmont Abbey ensured that the service was truly heartfelt and magical, with a relaxed atmosphere and amazing music from the Belmont choir, organist Tony Hemson and talented soloist Sarah Davison. Fenella chose three friends to support her during the day as her bridesmaids: Elizabeth Gould, Rebecca Durkin and Nicholas’s sister, Trudi Hall, whilst his brother William and friend Lee Turner acted as ushers.
As a rather unusual start to the day, the wedding car broke down on the way to Belmont Abbey and Fenella hitched a lift in a taxi to take her the rest of the way! Nicholas, a farmer with his father on the family farm in Dilwyn, and Fenella met through Young Farmers and the country theme extended throughout the wedding with a ride through the centre of Hereford to the reception on a tractor with their dog Joee – to the delight of many passers-by!
An additional touch to round off the service was meant to be the sounding of the hunt horn by Shaun Marles, the Huntsman from the Radnor and West Herefordshire Hunt.

Nicholas Hall
Belmont Abbey was the magnificent, historical setting for the recent wedding of Fenella Champness and Nicholas Hall. Wearing a stunning dress by Ian Stuart, Fenella looked beautiful as her father, Stephen Champness, gave her hand in marriage to Nicholas, whilst the groom’s father, Anthony Hall, stood up for Nicholas as his best man.
Unfortunately he got rather lost en route and even ended up at a christening before he found the right church and managed to blow the horn as the couple drove away!
The reception was held in a marquee in the grounds of the bride’s family home in Ullingswick, where her brother, Roland Puzey, took on the role of Master of Ceremonies and her sister, Henrietta Weston catered for the guests serving beef from the family farm and potatoes grown the year before on the field where the reception took place. Keeping it firmly in the family, the groom’s mother, Susan Hall-Neale made the wedding cake.
Following brilliant speeches, especially from the best man (father of the groom), friends and family danced into the night to The Undertakers and left Fenella and Nicholas with memories to last a lifetime. The couple travelled to Cornwall for their honeymoon and hope to visit New York later in the year.
Live 24-Seven wish them happiness for their future together.
