AWARD WORTHY I’m excited to share the news that myself and art director Sam Millard have been shortlisted for the Midlands Hairdresser of the Year at the prestigious British Hairdressing Awards 2014. It’s the 30th anniversary of the competition and I’m thrilled with our imagery for this year’s entry; shot by acclaimed photographer Andrew O’Toole, simple fashion styling and pared-back make-up lets the hair take centre stage – and we’ve pulled out all the stops to ensure we wow the judges. We won’t find out who takes the prize until the finals in November – but I’ll be sure to keep you posted…
MAKING WAVES It is with great pride that I can reveal that Peter Prosser stylist Melanie Jennings has been selected for WELLA-UNICEF MAKING WAVES, a programme which aims to touch and transform the lives of vulnerable young people through hairdressing training, mentoring and life skills education. Melanie has already provided free blow-dries here at the salon in return for donations to UNICEF and from 5th-20th September, she will travel to Romania to work as a mentor for the programme.
