REGIONAL INTEREST

The tournament experience comes with 2 nights at a private campsite where the athletes get to enjoy acoustics jams, DJ & dancing under the stars, party games and mini-events hosted by the participating teams, BBQs, even midnight strawberry shortcake! Many of these events raise money for a charity that the tournament will sponsor. This year, the tournament helped raise funds for the Moncton Fallen RCMP Fund and the Fredericton Foodbank (to help with Hurricane Disaster Relief).

This year the tournament hosted 20 teams from across New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, PEI, Ontario and Maine. Québec is also a familiar face, having sent many teams in the past. The teams are what drive the tournament’s success. Each year, teams propose service bids to enhance the tournament and

it’s associated shin-digs. Bids include things like refilling field-side water, running games and events at the party, field clean-up, serving teams dinner, and raising funds for our sponsored charity. The tournament itself employs volunteers and keep the event flowing smoothly, keep plenty of tasty field food (including BBQ), keep lots of water around for athletes to stay hydrated for long days on the beach.

Parlee is the highlight of the Atlantic Canadian Ultimate Frisbee scene, and the secret is spreading across North America. Reddit compiled a list of some of the best Ultimate tournaments to attend internationally, and Parlee was on the list. If you’ve never been to Parlee (or even to the east coast), there’s no better opportunity. See you at the beach!
