In addition, the RMC annual charity project is a ray of “sunshine” for The Sonrise Shelter. We appreciate all of our members who donated their time and talents to this worthy endeavor. This project shows the generosity of the GHBA Remodelers Council and the commitment to making a positive impact on the Houston community and the life of every person that The Sonrise Shelter serves.

The April RMC luncheon was informative in more than just one way. We not only learned about “Appliance Market Trends” and the bene- fits of cooking with steam, those in attendance received an interesting tip for baking the best bread you’ll ever taste—just don’t do it in a steam oven! If you want to know the secret you will have to ask someone who was there.

RMC’s May luncheon venue will return to the Lakeside Country Club. A panel con- sisting of Toner Kersting, Patrick Burns and Edward Neumann will discuss the topic of “Air Conditioning Solutions for Remodeling.” Be sure to join us Tuesday, May 13 so that you don’t miss any more interesting tips.

This year’s Sandcastle event is almost here. As a result of the overwhelming interest in the Lego Movie and the upcoming World Cup of Soccer event our theme is “Lego World Cup.” It’s an excellent way to get involved and take advantage of a great value at the same time.

The pre-party will take place Friday May 30, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Landry’s next door to the Hilton in Galveston. Saturday, May 31 is the day of the competition on East Beach, so come early, have fun, stay late and show your GHBA pride!

Please come out for a weekend of fun with friends and family. We hope to see you at the Friday pre-party and the Saturday Sandcastle event, but if you can’t make both, then join us for just one or the other. Purchase tickets online at www.ghba.org/calendar.

Charity Begins at the Garage Sale

It’s time to gear up for the RMC’s Annual Charity Garage Sale. This is the event that funds our annual Charity Project. We need your stuff and we need you! To donate items or to volunteer, please contact Frank Gullo, Gullo Construction Inc., Charity Garage Sale Committee chair at fgullo@sbcglobal.net or Lisa Pepitone at lpepitone@ghba.org or 281-664-1425.
