M/I Homes Receives Vendor Support for Benefit Home

Homes has tapped into its list of top-name vendors and trades to
help construct a Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) Benefit Home, a home that when sold, will benefit three important charities. Many of these ven- dors attended an appreciation luncheon in the community where the home is being constructed.
Allpoints Surveying provided its signature barbecue rig to the festivities and donat- ed the meal for all of the guests.
“From the generosity of the developer who donates the lot, through all stages of construction and even the closing, it’s the donations of materials, labor and services that are key to making this 34-year-old fundraiser a success,” said Scott Merovitch, chairman of the Benefit Homes Project. “M/I Homes joined The Woodlands Development Co. who donated the lot, and GHBA wanted to thank each vendor and trade personally with a meal and an appreciation plaque.”
Each year two homes are built for the Benefit Homes fundraiser with donated materials, labor and services from GHBA

members. The homes are loaded with upgrades and amenities and sold at mar- ket value. Proceeds are donated to Texas Children’s Cancer Center, the Alzheimer’s Association and HomeAid Houston. Since the fundraiser began, more than $8 million has been raised.
Many of the vendors and trades were on- hand to accept their award and to tour the
Benefit Home as it is nearing completion. Representatives from the three charities were also in attendance. Each expressed their appreciation to the vendors as well.
M/I Homes is building its popular Steffany II Plan in The Woodland’s neighborhood of Jagged Ridge in the Village of Creekside Park. The Steffany II Plan is a 2,629 sq. ft., 1.5 story design that includes a rotunda
