Sponsored by The Business Magazine, David Murray stepped up to announce the winner and present the Deals Awards trophy to Virgin Wines.
Once all the cameras had flashed and deserved applause had died down, Jay Wright, CEO of Virgin Wines, was able to gather his thoughts and was quick to praise his supportive dealmakers.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have won the award. More than anything, it recognises the enormous talent and energy of everyone involved. Spectrum Corporate Finance was exceptional in every way all the way through the MBO process, in Mobeus and Connection Capital we found two PE houses who were (and still are) hugely supportive and professional, Shoosmiths did an outstanding job with the legals and HMT ran the financial due diligence process producing excellent information with great clarity and detail. A genuine team effort and one I’m delighted has been recognised with this award.”
