PUBLISHER'SLETTER
elcome to our premiere issue of Essential Living Maine – Southern Maine’s resource for a healthy, active, sus- tainable lifestyle…naturally! We hope our monthly publication will become a regular must-read for you. Our sister magazine, Natural Nutmeg, has become a favorite for thousands of readers in Connecticut. Now residents of Maine can enjoy this fresh look at the many ways we all can lead holistic and healthy lives. First, we would like to thank all of our advertisers and contributing writers who have helped to create and make this magazine possible. We would also like to thank Sarah Murphy, our local marketing rep, for all her support and dedication in getting this project off the ground. It has been an incredible journey so far and we couldn’t have done it without all of you. Each month we’ll feature articles from local experts on wide-ranging topics like natural medicine, nutrition, fi t-
W
ness, healthy cooking, ecofriendly hotels, farm-to-table restaurants, green living and organic products. Our mission and intent is to support each reader’s wish to make a difference in their lives. Together, we can make a difference in the local communities. We hope that you enjoy what you read and fi nd something that affects you positively in each issue. In addition, we hope that this magazine connects readers with local healthcare practitioners. We offer information about local providers, their specialties and the many different treatment modalities that are available.
So, please patronize the advertisers who make this free magazine possible. Copies will be available beginning the fi rst week of each month in locations where free publications are normally found. The magazine will be printed bimonthly, however, there will be a new online issue each month, so please check our website
(
www.essentiallivingmaine.com), regularly for new content and information. Please Like us on Facebook at
www.facebook.com/es- sentiallivingmaine. As I fi nish the fi rst publisher’s letter, we are 48 hours from going to print. The endless hours of layout and editing will soon be completed and the fi rst issue will be in your hands. Every aspect of creating this magazine has been a pleasure and to fi nd yourself in work that you truly love is most certainly a gift. So, thank you again, to all those who helped to make Essential Living Maine a reality.
Wishing you health and happiness,
I
am very excited to present the inaugural issue of Essential Living Maine! My hope is that this magazine will help to foster education and awareness for the thriving holistic health and wellness community that we are so fortunate
to have here in Maine. I moved to Maine from New York in the summer of 2013 and have had the pleasure of working with the pub-
lishers, Dr. Diane and Chris Hindman, in getting Essential Living Maine off the ground. Over the past several months I have met with many local practitioners and business owners and one thing has become abundantly clear – every-
one in Maine is incredibly nice! The winter months were slow going at times, but spring has brought with it even more enthusiasm and energy for the magazine. We have collected a fantastic group of local health and wellness professionals who are here to share their expertise with you.
Thank you for reading Essential Living Maine and I look forward to sharing many more issues with you. In good health,
