FIVE community projects have been awarded a total of £9,500 to help deliver projects to benefit residents in Maidstone’s High Street ward. The projects will help Maid-
stone’s street pastors, young people and families, and tackle unemploy- ment.
Projects were shortlisted by the Community First High Street panel, made up of representatives of Maidstone Council and High Street ward residents and busi- nesses, before being displayed in Maidstone Gateway for residents to vote for their favourite projects. Trees could go
TWOelder trees could be removed in Brooks Field, Old Loose Hill, Loose. The parish council says one of the
trees is dead and covered in ivy, while the other fell in heavy winds. The conservation area applica-
tion, which will be determined by Maidstone Council, also includes felling a quadruple split hawthorn. Three replacement trees would be planted.
