DELIVERING A POSITIVE & VIBRANT MAIDSTONE IN DIFFICULT TIMES!
Message from
Cllr. Chris Garlan Leader of Maidsto e Conservatives
d, n
Six years ago was tired, drab and uncared for. The town itself was dying on its feet!
Maidstone Borough Council has been run by Maidstone Conservatives for the past six years and we have worked hard to benefit you and your family.
We have kept council tax low;
we have encouraged more jobs and businesses into the borough to provide greater job opportunities now and into the future;
we have taken difficult and needed decisions on where housing goes, to control development, protect the countryside and to ensure that there are sufficient numbers of houses for your children and grandchildren to access in the future.
Conservatives locally have provided strong leadership over the past six years; we have had to take difficult decisions but always for the best for Maidstone. Our track record has brought about a massive and positive change in Maidstone. I urge you to vote Conservative to keep Maidstone vibrant!
Six years on, with a Conservative council, Maidstone town centre is now a thriving, active and busy retail and leisure centre, second only to Bluewater in Kent.
Businesses are now flocking to Maidstone, providing more job opportunities for residents and families. Six years ago, feature in the rankings of desirable destina- tions for businesses.
We are protecting the countryside and our green fields by playing where housing needs to go.
The only way we can protect the countryside is getting a government approved housing plan in place. Conservatives are the only party prepared to take the tough decisions on housing to protect the countryside and control development.
