Forging Links
You were pretty new in the job when The Open 2006 came along. Were you daunted by the prospect? I suppose there was an element of worry which was probably for nothing. been about the progression of the golf course and that is my job, now and in the future! I grew up with links golf and love thinking about and working on a course like this one. So we have had time to plan and make improvements to the links for the Championship, and of course, along the way, we have also had to present the course for the Women’s Open and the Boys’ Amateur Championship. A measure of the job is all about worry.
